A Somerset door lining manufacturer has been acquired by a Northern Irish business for an undisclosed sum. Bridgwater-based Doorlining.com has been bought by Woodmarque, which manufactures specialist joinery, fire door-sets and contract furniture.
The deal will see County Tyrone's Woodmarque acquire 30,000 sq ft of extra manufacturing space, while the company will also take on Doorling.com's 20 staff. According to the Northern Irish firm, the acquisition will drive growth and increase capacity, while giving the business a "key strategic presence" two hours from London.
Doorlining.com was established in 2003 and describes itself as a manufacturer of made-to-measure door linings, frames, screens and doorsets in the UK.
Woodmarque managing director Ronan Quinn said the acquisition of Doorlining.com, which had been a long-standing part of the company’s supply chain, would bring a "host of major strategic benefits".
“There will also be considerable benefits for our carbon footprint and in terms of our overall efficiency," he said.
